For those that use the Swap Magic disc to boot up their PS2 backups.
There is now a cdloader disc to help boot up all those problem games:

  • PS2 DVDr GAMES WHICH DO NOT BOOT WITH SWAP MAGIC...... PROBLEM FIXED!!

    This means that you will be able to play all you PS2 DVDr backups which do not work with the swap magic discs (see this forum thread.... CDROM-Guide forums...here).

    We now have in stock a "cdloader" disc which fixes the Swap Magic v2.0 'problem'.
    It works for PS2 version 1-6 but is doesn't seem to work with v7 ps2. If you need to know how to establish which version of PS2 you own click here.

   Method


  • Insert your Swap Magic v2.0 "CD" disc and boot it.

  • Swap it with the cdloader using the Flip-Top Cover or similar method.

  • If using Flip Top: Ensure the cdloader disc is inserted underneath the lip on the left of the drive and that the console is laying flat.

  • Once it boots (very obvious), eject the CD-R using the PS2 *EJECT* button.

  • Insert your Swap Magic 2 "DVD" disc (other PS2 original with a high TOC may work also)

  • Press X when the original is recognized in the lower left of the screen.

  • This will NOT boot your game!!! It will simply stop the DVD from spinning so you can swap!

  • Now swap with your DVD-R backup you wish to boot using the Flip-Top Cover or similar method.

  • Press X.

  • Done!

  • If you press triangle then it will eject the tray for you

  • If you leave the cdloader in (don't swap it) and press x then it goes to another menu where you are able to boot multiple game dvd's (dvd's with 1-3 games on them)


   Method....with pics

  • Load your Swap Magic CD, and using an EA swap method (such as flip-top cover)
  • Change your Swap Magic CD with the cdloader and press X

You will be on the main cdloader screen  

  • Press Square to change the language to English

  • Press Circle to change from PAL to NTSC and vice versa.

 
  • If you want to play a CD based game, use the EA swap method (or flip top lid) and change the cdloader disc with your game CD and press X, and your game will boot
  • If you want to play a DVD based game, EJECT the cdloader CD and replace it with the Swap Magic DVD and press X
  • Swap your Swap Magic DVD with your DVD game disc using an EA method (or flip top lid), press X and your game will boot
  • If you press X on the main cdloader screen without changing discs you will get a ‘Multi Loader’ Screen,
